Shibuya, the Swedish systems integrator with some of Sweden’s largest organizations as clients, acquires Morex, a Swedish company with long experience of systems integration, storage and backup.
”We see an increased complexity in the delivery of IT where cloud services are mixed with clients own infrastructure, and this makes clients value stable partners who can offer both products and services with high reliability,” says Kjell Olsson, CEO of Shibuya. ” By acquiring Morex we further strengthen our entire business and increase our capacity within service, support and operations.”
With the acquisition, Shibuya get access to experienced consultants with strong technical competence, who can contribute to the operations from day one. Seven employees with years of experience and high competence will join and enhance the Shibuya organization, which after the acquisition will consist of 30 employees.
”Both companies have enjoyed long term relations with clients that are growing and are in need of additional resources,” says Bertil Persson, CEO of Morex, ” Our shared values around customer engagement and shared focus on developing competence also contributes to making this a perfect match. We get a continuity where I and the co-workers can continue developing our business together with Shibuya.”
Focus on organic growth
Shibuya has during the last year expanded and grown through several key recruitments. The acquisition of Morex is a so-called cash transaction, where Shibuya acquires all shares in Morex. The company does not rule out additional acquisitions in the future, but focus is on organic growth.
” We have always grown together with our clients and therefore it is very joyful that we through the acquisition of Morex can offer additional resources and competence,” says Kjell Olsson.
“Going forward our focus is on organic growth, but we will always be open to acquisition opportunities where both the business and the core values are close to our hearts and our long term strategy.”
